Alam read law at the Universities of Ottawa and Western Ontario. He is a Solicitor and is a fluent Polish speaker. Alam has extensive experience in many areas of law including:
- Residential conveyancing (including HTB/HTB ISA, Newly Build, Leasehold, Freehold, Staircasing, Shared Ownership, Registered and Unregistered)
- Commercial conveyancing (Shop, Restaurant, Rent Deposits, Assignments, Lease Renewals, Sublease, Application for change of use)
- Employment law (discrimination, unfair dismissal, redundancy, disciplinary procedure)
- Civil disputes
- Family law (divorce, separation, jurisdictional disputes relating to the proceedings in Polish and English family courts, proceeding under the Hague Convention of 25 October 1980on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction)
